Data Deletion
1. How to Request Deletion
Delete your account yourself: sign in and open Your account, then Delete my account at the foot of the page, or start at pipe-posts.com/delete-account, which emails you a link that signs you in there. It happens 7 days after you confirm, and we email you a link to cancel it until then. If you are the only owner of your business, the business is deleted with your account. Or, if you prefer, ask us by email:
Email [email protected] from the email address on your Pipe Posts account, and tell us which of the following you want:
- Disconnect one social account — name the account (for example, a Facebook Page or Instagram account).
- Delete your content — your drafts, posts and uploaded media.
- Delete everything and close the account — all of the above, plus your account information.
You do not need to give a reason. We acknowledge every request within 5 business days and complete it within 30 days, then confirm in writing that it is done. If we cannot action part of a request, we will tell you which part and why.
An operator can disconnect a social account from the Connections page in Pipe Posts at any time, without emailing us. That removes the stored credentials for it immediately.
2. What Gets Deleted
Disconnecting a social account destroys the stored access token and account identifiers for it. Pipe Posts can no longer publish to that account, or reach it in any way, until you connect it again.
Deleting your content removes your drafts, scheduled posts, uploaded images and video, and every per-platform version derived from them.
Closing your account removes all of the above, together with your business and operator records and your publishing history.
Closing an account also destroys the encryption key that protected your stored credentials. Once that key is gone, those credentials cannot be read by anyone — including us, and including from any backup. This is deliberate and it cannot be undone, so export anything you want to keep before you ask us to close the account.
3. What We Cannot Delete
Posts that have already been published are not ours to remove. Once Pipe Posts has sent a post to Facebook, Instagram or any other platform, that post lives on that platform under your account. Deleting your Pipe Posts data does not take it down. To remove a published post, delete it in the platform's own app or website, or revoke Pipe Posts' access from that platform's settings:
- Facebook: Settings & Privacy → Settings → Business Integrations
- Instagram: Settings → Website Permissions → Apps and Websites
Financial records — invoices and payment records — are retained for seven years, as Australian tax law requires. They contain your billing details, not your content or your credentials.
Backups — after deletion, residual copies may remain in our database provider's point-in-time restore history for 24 hours, after which they are unrecoverable. They are not accessible in the running service, and credentials within them are unreadable once the key is destroyed.
4. Data Received From Meta
This page is the data deletion route for information Pipe Posts receives through Meta's APIs, as Meta's Platform Terms require. Information received from Meta — the identifiers of the Facebook Page or Instagram account you connected, the access token permitting us to publish to it, and the results of posts we published — is deleted when you disconnect that account, when you close your Pipe Posts account, or on request by email as described in section 1.
You can also revoke Pipe Posts' access from within Facebook or Instagram at any time, using the settings paths listed in section 3. Revoking access there stops any further publishing immediately; email us as well if you want the stored records removed from Pipe Posts.
5. Questions
Deletion, access and correction requests, and any privacy question, all go to [email protected]. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why, and section 13 of it sets out how to complain if you are not satisfied with our response.
